QUICK TIP:
CLEAN SWEEP ORGANIZING
By Karen Porter,
Editor
EasyHomeOrganizing.com
Every day do a
fifteen minute sweep around your home. Remove any items from a room that are
not normally used in that room or detract from its function. These are often
items that family members dropped impulsively such as book bags on the
kitchen counter or children's toys in the home office. Until family members
"get with the system", you may have to make it a habit to move the items to
their new organizational home when needed.
If you really
want to drive home the point with family members, make your daily sweep
using a simple rolling hamper. Put EVERY displaced item (not currently being
used by a family member) into the rolling hamper. Park it in the same place
daily after your clean sweep. Family members who didn't return items to
their proper homes can sort through this catch-all organizer to retrieve
their items. Perhaps after a while of this routine they'll put them
elsewhere (but don't count on it!).[ Back ] [ Next ]
