♦Five teddy bears in separate locations in your home is five
stuffed animals strewn about. But five teddy bears clustered together on a book
shelf is a collection. See the difference. Guests will ask about your collection
versus trip over it. You're displaying collectibles now. You're managing your
collection instead of it managing you.
♦Use
Shadow Boxes
that hang on the wall, crystal bowls that
set on a table, and free-standing display cabinets to cluster your like items.
Blend themes into your decor.
♦Find shadow boxes at stores that sell sports items,
memorabilia, collectibles, home decor and/or arts and crafts.
♦If you buy
unfinished shadow boxes, you can spray paint or add your own finish. But you
could paint an already finished shadow box too.
♦Home organization store Stacks and Stacks carries these
colors Natural, White, Dark Cherry, Black, Chocolate, Honey, and Mahogany
Collection Box - Set of 3

♦Etageres work too for displaying collectibles:

♦Etageres are used in multiple rooms. So you may find them in
any number of departments in an online or walk-in retail store.
♦Remember, keep grouping your collectibles by theme and blend
them into your decor across your home. Got a lot of knick-knacks that are types of animals? Spread
them amongst the books on one bookcase (not across the house). Got a bunch of
decorative tins? Put them all on top of one kitchen storage cabinet (perhaps in
a less functional space you wouldn't use much anyway like the top of the upper
corner cabinet). Cluster the children's artwork into a collage format and using
push pins put it on a large mounted bulletin board. Group framed photographs.
♦Naturally,
if you just have some fun inexpensive collectibles a more modest display case or
shadow box might be more
appropriate. But an elegant display case suits an elegant collection of pricey
items.
♦Stacks
and Stacks sells this elegant lighted curio cabinet
that fits neatly into a corner yet attracts plenty of attention:

Mahogany Lighted Curio

♦If you have specific collectibles to display such as flags,
golf balls, pins, etc., check out the
display cases sold at Stacks and
Stacks.
