♦Trash strewn everywhere is home clutter. For instance, paper cups,
food wrappers, old newspapers, empty toothpaste boxes and paper towel tubes and
more. Grab a garbage bag and walk through each room.
Put every piece of trash you find within two to three minutes
per room into that trash bag. (Pretend you're the airline attendant on a flight
collecting the empty cups and wrappers prior to landing. Make your family hand
their trash to you at each stop or doorway.) And then walk directly outside and
put that trash bag into the container.
♦Don't set the trash bag aside to create more home clutter.
Okay--if it's dark and cold, just lean it against the front door. Then make a
rule that the first person out that door in the morning must take it with them
to the container. And don't put the bag anywhere else or family members will
forget to take it.
♦If you recycle newspapers, keep them contained until you make
your recycling drop off. This
