♦First gather your shoes. Inspect the interiors and the heels.
Trash
any shoe that isn't comfortable or that's worn. Your feet will thank you in
later years. Take any favorite shoe with a repairable heel problem to the shoe
repair shop and ask for a quote (Some shoe repairs are quite inexpensive.). Any
shoe that's in good shape but too small (yea--great sale!) goes to the nearest
Goodwill store.
♦Now start thinking about ideas for shoe storage. Some people like to keep their shoes stored in
Plastic Shoe Boxes
clearly labeled on the front. This keeps out dust but really works best for
special occasion shoes.
♦For shoes worn daily, put shoe racks in convenient spots like
your entryway closet and bedroom closet. A rack in the garage can handle really
dirty shoes. Discount retailers and home improvement stores sell sturdy
free-standing white laminated stackable horizontal closet organizers perfect for
shoes (24" - 31" wide at Kmart and Lowes).
♦You also
might look at under-the-bed shoe storage ideas such as this under bed cart sold
