Be organized before an emergency situation. Create some emergency checklists. 1) Make a list of items you would take with you in case you had to evacuate in a hurry for an emergency such as medicine, phone numbers and pet supplies; 2) Make a list of items you would want to keep on hand for an emergency you can prepare for such as a hurricane; 3) Make a list of each family member's medications and allergies and keep it somewhere where you'd find it if you had to rush that person to the emergency room.
