♦If you're the impromptu type, save those
wire ties that are attached to products you purchase. After you untangle the
wires behind your appliances, gather and bundle the excess wire into about an inch
bundle and wrap the tie around it to contain it. And for safety and aesthetic
purposes, try to make the distance of the wire or cord between your appliance and wall as short as
possible. Otherwise you'll trip over it or it'll be in the way when you vacuum.
♦Another favorite cable tie that's easy is
Velcro Straps
, sold
by Organize-Everything. These may also be called Velcro Ties (but don't
confuse them with Velcro Fasteners which are used to fasten things to the wall,
for instance.)
♦Try to run external wires in your home (e.g. speaker wires) along base boards or
trim. It's less noticeable. You can use a few strategic large staples
from an industrial stapler (nail) gun to keep the wires in place on the
walls/base boards (but there are other options too beside staples). And if
you're real picky, you can paint the outside of the wires the same color as your
walls so the wires blend better and are less noticeable.

about wire and cable organizers
