If you get an extra telephone directory delivered to you annually, put it in your car under the seat (or somewhere secure where it won't fly through the air like a brick during a fender bender or worse).

A telephone book in the car will come in handy when you're traveling. You might look up a business street address in it, call a business to check its hours or cancel an appointment, call ahead for a restaurant pick up/take out or even find a tow truck or auto emergency service.
