♦The best way to organize a sock drawer these days is with a
ready-made drawer organizer. Of course, you can make your own drawer
dividers and drawer organizers if you're crafty using some sturdy cardboard. But
it will take time.
♦Here's a
Drawer Organizer
from Stacks and Stacks that has 32
diamond-shaped compartments. Just roll each pair of your socks tightly, and
store one in each compartment (either horizontally or vertically--whatever fits
best for your size socks).
♦Another type of compartment you can create is
rectangular-shaped
(versus the diamond-shaped compartments). This might be better for big bulky
socks. Again, you can frugally improvise by, for
instance, cutting the bottom of large cereal boxes to the appropriate size and
shape. Or
you can get fancy and buy the ready-made
Storage Box - Socks
from Stacks and Stacks.

♦One more tip to help you organize socks...
...When buying basic black or white socks, stock up
simultaneously. That way you have 20 pairs of white socks (or black socks) that
can be mixed and matched. When you buy just a couple at a time, inevitably they
don't match your other white (or black) socks. For instance, the sizes may be slightly
different or one may fade quicker than the other. But when you buy the basic
color socks altogether, it's a lot easier to match them straight out of the
washing machine because they're identical and have aged identically (or faded
identically) too. That's an organizing tip that will save you time.
