♦Use plastic storage bins for children's toys as the solution
for stashing toys neatly while keeping them handy. You can buy plastic storage
bins at almost any dollar store. Get ones that are about four inches high by
about one or two feet long (or vary the sizes).
♦Then line the bins in a row on open shelving. For instance,
buy several two shelf horizontal bookcases (often about $20 each at office
supply stores). They're the right height for younger children to see and find
(and put away) their toys.
♦Then take a picture of the toy (or the child with the toy)
and tape it to the outside of each plastic bin. That way they'll know what goes
where (when you explain the system to them).
♦If you have more than one child, buy one color set of bins
for each child (e.g. red for Suzy and blue for Tommy).
♦Stash stuffed animals loose on top of that bookcase.
