♦Another
great item to use to store or back up data and photos is a travel drive (flash
drive, jump drive, USB drive, etc.). This is a portable drive that you plug into
a USB port on your desktop computer or laptop. The USB port is the same little
socket that you plug printers and digital cameras into. Most computer hard
drives have several and even if yours doesn't (or they're all full), you can
easily add more USB ports with no computer technical knowledge (just use a USB
hub). These hubs are in the computer section of stores everywhere. This is
just one USB hub style:

♦A
portable travel drive is like having another drive. Just like you already have
the C drive or A drive on your computer, the travel drive (when plugged into
your USB port) might appear on your computer for instance as the F or G
drive. You can save any file on your computer to it, and even download software
programs to it. A travel drive holds a lot, possibly more than ANY other
portable data
or photo backup option---depending on the storage capacity size
of the travel drive you buy (e.g. 256 mb, 512 mb, 1 gb, etc.). A portable travel drive
is about the size
of a key chain. (Perhaps, a portable hard drive holds the most but portable
travel drives are really growing in size.)
♦A good reliable brand is Memorex. Here's one I own and use. It's really so
simple to use a first grader could master it. Here it is sold from Amazon.com:
I also own the
SanDisk brand and have had no problems with them.
♦Prices of
travel drives increase with storage capacity size, like these Memorex Mini
Travel Drives also from
Amazon (which are tiny capacity compared to some sold now, but you can click
through anyone below to get more suggestions at Amazon):
